The Council
on Applied Chiropractic Sciences (CACS) is dedicated to education
and research, professional excellence and clinical communication
to promote the advancement of the Philosophy, Science, and Art of
Chiropractic and enhance the professional welfare of chiropractors
and clinical opportunities for patients everywhere.
Membership in the CACS is open to all doctors of chiropractic who
wish to enhance both their professional and personal growth by participating
with a group that shares the commitment to enhance their knowledge
of the intricacies and importance of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.
As the public is becoming more aware of the health benefits of chiropractic
and as our inter-professional relationships are expanding, it is
imperative that DC's, as primary care providers, remain on the cutting
edge of clinical developments within the context of the profession’s
foundation. Membership in the Council brings additional benefits
for professional growth, including networking and referral opportunities.
Goals and Objectives
The Council on Applied Chiropractic Sciences seeks to enhance the
growth of knowledge, the refinement of skills and the deepening
of understanding within the science of chiropractic for the individual
chiropractic practitioner and the profession as a whole so that
more knowledgeable, competently and safely administered chiropractic
care may be provided to the public. The ICA Council on Applied Chiropractic
Sciences works to fulfill its many goals through a variety of programs.
The Council’s work includes:
- Promoting
continued excellence of patient care in the application of chiropractic
science, philosophy, and art as it relates to the reduction, management
and/or correction of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.
- Protecting
the health and well being of the individual patient and public
with respect to the scientific applications of chiropractic care.
The Council
on Applied Chiropractic Sciences is committed to accomplishing these
important priorities through establishment and maintenance of credentialing

directed toward the advancement of the philosophy, science and art
of chiropractic.

Chiropractic
Certification in Spinal Trauma (C.C.S.T)
This highly acclaimed ten-module program is designed
to increase expertise and improve clinical outcomes in spinal trauma
cases through more thorough, confident case management and enhanced
communication with patients and other professionals. Successful
completion of the seminar modules and final examination leads to
credentialing for the Chiropractic Certification in Spinal Trauma
(C.C.S.T.) through the ICA Council on Applied Chiropractic Sciences.
Doctors not interested in certification may also take individual
seminar sessions for continuing education credit and enhanced expertise
in areas of special concern.
Diplomate
Program
The
Diplomate of the ICA Council on Applied Chiropractic Sciences (D.A.C.S.)
is a unique credentialing program that provides doctors of chiropractic
with a curriculum specifically directed to the Science and Clinical
Management of the VSC. The program involves an intensive 3 year
post-graduate program comprising of 360 hours and 30 modules. (Currently
undergoing updates for distance learning)
Annual Conference and Educational Opportunities
The Council offers educational programs and Annual Conferences which
offer 12-16 hours of continuing education credits. These give doctors
the opportunity to sharpen their clinical skills and expand their
knowledge base as they relate to the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.
These meetings provide a valuable forum for the presentation and
discussion of specific cases doctors encounter in their practices.
Case studies are strongly encouraged, from Council members and others.
Research of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex is one of our primary
objectives.
