Dear Chiropractic Colleague:
On November 11th we stand together to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military veterans. 100 years ago, today, Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day”, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. The first Armistice Day was celebrated worldwide, in honor of the Armistice which began on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour. Since 1938, in the United States, we have formally celebrated Veterans Day as an official national day of remembrance and respect for those who served.
The ICA deeply respects and values the sacrifices and dedication of the more than 20 million men and women living today who have worn our nation’s uniform and served in times of war and peace. Because of their unhesitating and selfless sacrifice, we know that freedom is not free. Liberty comes at a price and the men and women who serve our country stand willing to pay that price for our freedom and for peace. Today, we thank you, we salute you, we honor you, Veterans! Those who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard – you are heroes one and all.
On this important day, please take the time to do something to honor a veteran. Share your uplifting stories of service on the ICA Facebook page so that we may all pause and remember those who served.
Veterans have paid it forward and deserve the best of care, the greatest degree of understanding and the widest possible community support as they seek to resume civilian life. In this effort, every citizen has a role. The ICA deeply respects and values the sacrifices and dedication of those who work tirelessly to protect and defend. We will continue to do our part to advocate for improvements to veterans’ services and care.
